The OISC allows different levels of qualification to be acquired and I have been struck by the quality and professionalism shown by some firms. Indeed one firm I rate highly is United Kingdom Immigration Services (“UKIS”) based in West London and headed up by the excellent Nelam Trewin. I have had a number of referrals and instructions from them and have found them to be the equal of and indeed better than a great number of immigration solicitors.Paul Turner – Barrister, Mansfield Chambers,,
UKIS was recommended to me. Throughout my dealings with UK Immigration Services I have found them to be highly experienced and efficient. We were kept up-to date and had no need to chase them on the progress of our case. They handled a complex application on our behalf and we received a successful outcome in July 2017 – we are delighted with the outcome and highly recommend UKIS.Mr Hundal – IT – London,
UK Immigration Services helped us to get our family ILR in 2017. For us it turned out to be a very long, painful and complicated process. Nelam Trewin and her team were always there with their friendly expert advice, always ready to go that extra mile. Before we finally received ILR we had passed through many stages including refusals, administrative reviews, judicial review and almost 15 months of waiting for the positive decision. We always had great support from UK Immigration Services. We’re very happy with the service we received. The entire team is very professional and experienced in complicated cases. Well done Nelam!Batogova Family – Surrey,
UKIS have been great in helping us for our Immigration matter, we received clear and satisfying advice. A HUGE thanks to Nelam and her team, especially Arifa for professionally dealing with our case. Highly recommend UKIS for all Immigration matters. An exceptionally experienced and reliable firm.Mr & Mrs Zeeshan - Middlesex,
I highly recommend UK Immigration Services. I contacted UK Immigration Services in July 2015 to help me get my mother a visa to live with me and my partner. I found Nelam to be straight talking and clear about the obstacles, challenges and the chances of getting my mother through the immigration process via the Adult Dependent Relative category. She was clear on possible costs which was also an important aspect.
She and her team counselled me on how they would proceed, and what information and evidence was important or critically important to obtain for the case. I worked with her team to gather all the documentation, based on a long list they provided to me. It was very daunting, especially as I am self-employed and so the Home Office required a lot of additional financial information. They were there to answer questions and to cross reference the information required against the checklist.
While we were waiting for an answer, Nelam checked with me periodically to see if we had heard any news, which I appreciated. When our application was rejected, Nelam and Arifa sprung into action immediately. Nelam consulted a barrister about the reasons for rejection and our chances for winning an appeal. The advice from the barrister was insightful and somewhat optimistic. Nelam shared his advice in totality so we could assess whether we should proceed or not. She also advised on further costs to take us through the process as well as the current waiting times. On this basis, Arifa collected the next round of documents that would be needed to support our appeal. The appeal, refuting the key points from the Home Office rejection, was well-written, articulate considered and commanding.
Prior to our court date for the appeal, we had a briefing call. Nelam laid out what the court environment was like and what we should expect. We met our Barrister on the day of the hearing, which was the same Barrister who had provided the advice on our rejection letter. He was well-organised, he had an excellent grasp of our situation and presented himself exceptionally well to the judge.
After our hearing, Nelam followed up straight away, even though she was out of the country. Even though our process has been very long, Nelam and her team have been there at each critical milestone; ensuring we got to the next point in the process with the best position and presentation possible. Their advice, attention to detail, organisation and, ultimately, choice of Barrister gave us the best chance to win our case in an incredibly difficult category...and we did!Mrs A. Semas – Accountant – Surrey,
A successful outcome was achieved with my Leave to remain visa appeal tribunal from the Home Office with the excellent help of Nelam and Arifa at UKIS. They give a very professional service, and dealt with everything required for my appeal, leading to Home Office withdrawal without a full hearing. Which was a great relief. Recommended!Jeanne T Day – Staines-upon-Thames,
My wife and I are British. We spent 12 years fighting to bring our daughter to the UK, not to mention the money and stress. We had been given the run around and bad advice by many companies, every application had been refused and court appeals refused. In 2014, we approached UKIS. We first spoke to Nelam Trewin by phone, and arranged an urgent meeting with her. We discussed the background of our case, which was extremely complicated, the pain we had endured was evident from our face and voice.
The meeting was long, I recall Nelam saying it was one of the most complex and sad cases she had heard. To cut a long story short – my wife and I, after trying for a child for 15 years travelled abroad for IVF treatment, the treatment was successful, and we had a beautiful daughter. However, shortly after the birth we undertook a DNA test so that we could bring our daughter home, to our utter disbelief the DNA results confirmed we were not the biological parents – that’s when our nightmare began. There were further DNA tests, repeated applications, court hearings but still our daughter was not able to join us. It transpired there had been a mix up with the IVF, trying to hold anyone responsible for this was a task in itself, the doctors vanished and clinics closed, we could not trace anyone to hold accountable.
We felt comfortable with Nelam and felt that she and her team would be able to help us, she had a great deal of experience representing complex cases in India so was familiar with the system. Nelam discussed options, the de-facto visa, adoption, Article 8m and various case law etc. and clearly explained that we should prepare ourselves for a battle, as it was going to be a tough lengthy process. It was made clear that the application would be refused and the only chance we had would be before a judge. We instructed UKIS to handle the application, the application took time to prepare and I was impressed by the way the application was prepared, UKIS were very thorough, they prepared a comprehensive application.
As we expected the application was refused in 2015. UKIS lodged an appeal and the appeal was heard in 2016 before 2 senior judges, the appeal went on for most of the day. To our joy the appeal was allowed. My wife and I were overwhelmed when Nelam told us that our daughter will finally be joining us, but also said there was a chance the Home Office would appeal. Shockingly, the Home Office did appeal, but were refused permission.
Our daughter finally joined us in the UK in October 2017. We all visited Nelam and her team in 2018. We are forever indebted to Nelam and her team, they have made our dream into reality, they fought our case with passion and professionalism. Nelam always responded to my emails promptly, even late evenings and weekends. The service we received from UKIS is priceless, we would have never been able to achieve this without them and I cannot recommend them enough!Mr Singh and Mrs Kaur - Bristol,
After having our mother’s application for residence permit rejected, my sister and I decided to seek advice from immigration solicitors. We met Nelam and had not looked further for solicitors - we were certain that with UKIS our next application would be in good hands and we were right. Gerard was assigned to our case and our mother’s residence card was granted with no questions. His professional advice and knowledge of the immigration aspects have been outstanding.
But it is not just that, it was being always available and responsive when we were worried or had silly questions. Our mother is now a happy resident of UK and we could not have done it without UKIS. What they do is life-changing. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be working with them again in the future for our mother’s Indefinite Leave to Remain.Assel Appleyard and Dinara Uatayeva, Surrey,
I was in desperate need of legal representation. The Home Office had curtailed my elderly mother’s leave without notice and threatened removal. This was an extremely stressful time which meant if my mother was removed I too would have to leave the UK and close my well established business that employed 30 people. I am forever grateful that I came across UKIS. I contacted them on a weekend and they responded quickly. They moved fast and professionally – the matter was handled by Nelam and my mother’s leave was reinstated. I was kept informed every step of the way. I highly recommend UKIS for their level of service, knowledge and professionalism.Mr Chen – Managing Director – Surrey,
Gerard - I just wanted to touch base to let you know that the Sole Representative visa was approved today. I also wanted to state that working with you and your firm has been a positive experience from start to finish. You all conduct yourselves with a high level of professionalism, and are obviously very experienced around issues of visa issuance. I am truly happy to have found your firm and to have engaged you all to help us in this matter. If I need further help in the future (which I probably will) I will not hesitate to contact you folks, and similarly if I come across anyone needing immigration advice I will most definitely send them your way.
Thanks again Gerard, and I hope that you have a great week.Nick Blonski – MD - USA,
